Resourceful Santa Fe collects and redistributes a wide range of discarded materials and we welcome donations from the public! We work hard to reuse and repurpose items and the landfill is our last result, yet some things are simply made for the landfill (it's up to you and me to change that! See this LINK and thank you NM Senator Udall!). To keep our disposal fees down we do not accept certain items, please see below for more details.

Donate Items

Calling all artist studios, Grandma's attics, spring cleaners, manufacturers and more. We want your cool discards! We accept donations during our regular hours (we know this is limited but it's a start!) of 1:30-4:00 on Tuesdays and we will also accept donations by appointment. To coordinate a donation, please call Sarah Pierpont at 505-603-0558. Please download our guide of acceptable and unacceptable donations here. Donations are often on a case-by-case basis depending on our inventory and community needs.

A general rule of thumb is that we prefer natural materials like wood, paper, fiber, metal, etc and we do not accept plastic or disposable items unless they are vintage. This means no plastic CD cases or yogurt tubs but yes to Aunt Lois' 1960s durable plastic serving platter. Download the donations guide to learn more or if in doubt, simply email or call Sarah Pierpont at skpierpont@yahoo.com or 505-603-0558.

Financial Donations

Monetary donations assist with our general operating funds, as well as with our special programs. This means your donation can fund an after school recycled-art making program, gallery exhibits, community events, workshops and so much more! And of course your donation fuels creative reuse and repurposing and keeps items out of the landfill!

Estate Reuse Services

Clearing and emptying a home is not an easy task to accomplish. Resourceful Santa Fe provides a full range of services to totally manage the donation of your personal property and clear out a home vacated by relocation or death of a relative. We will help you respectfully sort through belongings giving them the dignity they deserve, while facilitating reuse, waste diversion and redistribution of items to social services nonprofits or individuals in need, as appropriate. Services range from free curbside pick-up of items to fee-based, hands-on sorting and distribution of material. Contact us to determine the best fit for your donation needs or you can call Sarah Pierpont directly at 505-603-0558.

Corporate Memberships

This Corporate Membership Program helps us efficiently take in and process materials while covering operational costs and serving as the middle-step between donations and end-users. For example, we don't often find homes for bound books of fabric, but our volunteers can take those books apart to create "recycled-stuffie making" art kits or "make your own upcycled crown" kits and provide these to the community at no or little charge. Corporate Memberships allow businesses with items to discard to give those to the creative reuse center for a fee to be processed into recycled-art making kits and distributed to the community in exchange for 1) commitment that all of their material will be salvaged/upcycled; 2) quantifiable information about pounds donated and how their donations have been utilized to serve artists/children in need; 3) website/social media/press shout outs.  Our artists can turn your donations into everything from Make Your Own Father’s Day Cards to Sew Your Own Stuffie to Terrarium Building to Fairy Fort Making to Swords and Crowns to Planters/Macramé, and so on.  The list is endless and we'll be sure to honor any special donation issues, such as removal of corporate logos, as needed. Interested?  Learn more HERE.

THANK YOU to our corporate donors!

All donations are tax-deductible as we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
